1) Intro to this privacy statement

DomainIT has been in business since 1996 and we have always cared about your privacy and the importance of protecting your personal data. We embrace the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for the EEA (European Economic Area) and we have developed this privacy statement that provides a description of how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information, as well as the choices you have regarding use, access and correction of your information. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices, and know that your best interests are always taken seriously. 2) Information we collect and process

In order to conduct business with you, we collect and process personal data that you provide voluntarily to us and when you access or use our products and services. Personal data may include: your name, your email addresses, your phone numbers, your fax numbers, your addresses, your date of birth, your organization (if applicable), the IP addresses you use to connect to our systems, language and currency preferences, your web browser, your email client, your login information, files or content you upload to or transmit through our servers (such as email and web files), your credit card information, and government issued ID (if applicable to confirm identity). When we request information from you on our web site, we will indicate whether the data is voluntary, or obligatory and contractually required to perform the service requested or utilized.

We take all reasonably necessary measures to protect the security of your personal data both online and offline. These measures include encryption of data where appropriate and limiting access. Our websites utilize SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to encrypt data you submit to our servers. However, it should be known that no method of data transfer or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee total security. Security precautions should also be taken by yourself to minimize risk such as changing your login details periodically, logging out of your account after you are done, and by not sharing your login details.

Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the services that you requested, and thereafter for legal or business purposes. These purposes may include reasons due to law, contract or similar obligations applicable to our business operations, for preserving, resolving, defending or enforcing our legal/contractual rights; or needed to maintain historical, statistical, and accurate business and financial records.

We believe in minimizing the amount of personal information that we collect and use to where we have been given permission, to effectively deliver services you have purchased or utilize, and as may be required by law or for legal purposes. DomainIT will only process personal data where it has a legitimate interest or legal basis to do so. We may use personal information for reasons such as:

DomainIT and its affiliated companies may share information with each other to perform services requested or utilized by you, or with trusted third-parties as necessary for us or for them to perform services on our behalf as permitted under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Such services include:

We may share your personal data to comply with ICANN, domain registry operators, official whois database operators, industry required escrow services, and to comply with domain registration rules, regulations and policies when you register, transfer or maintain a domain name. We are unable to influence data processing of those parties.

We may also disclose your personal data to law enforcement agencies, to other government and/or civil authorities similarly authorized by applicable laws and regulations and to courts with appropriate jurisdiction if so required by law.

To ensure data accuracy and to prevent abuse of our services, we may use third-party verification service providers to check personal data you have provided, to assess our business operations, and we may also provide access to your data to trusted third-party auditors.

For support purposes, we may provide access to your personal data to trusted providers of third-party support services.

We have never and will never sell your personal data to anyone except in the case of the company undergoing new ownership.

7) Third-party representation

If you order a service from DomainIT for a third-party or use them as additional contacts or account users, you are responsible to inform them of our privacy statement and for obtaining the necessary consent from those parties to use and process their personal data as described in this policy.

8) Your control of your information

You have easy access 24 hours a day to view, update, and delete (where available) your personal data, plus update your subscription preferences. Simply log into your account manager then click to view your profile and contacts. If you have any trouble logging in or updating your information, click the support icon at the top of any page and we’ll be glad to help.

Deletion of your personal data will be honored only in the case where your personal data is no longer necessary for any purchased services or where required for our legitimate business purposes or legal or contractual record keeping requirements.

9) Tracking activity

DomainIT collects IP addresses which are unique identifiers that many devices use to identify and communicate with each other on the Internet. When you visit our websites, we view and/or store the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. We may use this information to determine the general physical location of the device and understand from what regions of the world our websites visitors come from. Use of this information includes enhancing DomainIT websites and how users interact with them, such as tailoring the website design, language, currency and other aspects of the site to best fit that location.

Similar to most websites, we also utilize and keep track of cookies and other similar technologies on our websites to track your browsing behavior, links clicked, items purchased, device type, and to collect various data, including analytics, about how you use and interact with our services. This information allows us to provide you with more relevant product offerings, a better experience on our websites, and to collect, analyze and improve the performance of our services.

10) Age Restriction

DomainIT.com is directed at adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect or use information provided by children under the age of 16 without parental consent. If you become aware of any collection of personal data from children under 16 without parental consent please let us know right away at privacy@domainit.com so we can take appropriate action.

11) Transfer of data abroad

DomainIT is a US registered entity with our primary systems also located within the USA. Use of our services will involve transfer of data if you utilize our services outside of the USA. Similarly we may provide support services from countries outside of your country of origin.

We may update this privacy statement from time to time to keep it up to date, to keep pace with new developments and opportunities relating to the Internet, and to stay in line with applicable laws. The effective date of the current privacy statement is noted at the top of this page and we encourage you to periodically review it. We will inform you separately if we make significant changes to this privacy statement.
